The photo depicts Muslims praying as part of the United American Muslim Day Parade that has been taking place in NYC since 1985 — it is nothing new. Remember that NYC is multicultural and there are culture-oriented parades and/or other gatherings for a number of groups including Catholics, Italians, Irish, African-Americans, to name a few. The United American Muslim Day Parade takes place on the last Sunday of September every year. The Muslim Foundation of America, created in 1984. Its purpose: To promote better understanding and cooperation among Muslims and with other interfaith communities.
In reality both the parade and the foundation are non-threatening, so you needn’t worry. After all, not every person who practices Islam is a terrorist.
This is not the end of September Anne, it is July 23rd and to quote a letter from a retired NYC Polic Officer that says “This is an accurate picture of every Friday afternoon in several locations throughout NYC where there are mosques with a large number of muslims that cannot fit into the mosque – They fill the surrounding streets, facing east for a couple of hours between about 2 & 4 p.m. – Besides this one at 42nd St & Madison Ave, there is another, even larger group, at 94th St & 3rd Ave, etc., etc. – Also, I presume, you are aware of the dispute over building another “high rise” Mosque a few blocks from “ground zero” I think that you need to look at the “whole” picture here.
I pray to our Lord and Savior that you will see the truth.
bill, do you live in nyc? do you work in nyc? do you visit nyc regularly? so you have seen this sight first hand? NO YOU HAVEN’T. do you know why? because it doesnt happen every friday. how can you swear to something you haven’t seen?

The “big deal” is the fact — IF it is indeed fact — that Muslims can shut down public streets EVERY Friday ?? Could any other group do such?

Snopes has an article dated/updated on 19 July 2010 with the same pics and clearly states that it was taken on 18 October 2009.
Nowhere does it mention that it is a regular occurrence every Friday and perhaps the name of the retired NYC police officer should be available so that he/she can be referenced.
Given the extremely high traffic flow in NYC streets, I do not expect the authorities there to close the streets every Friday to accomodate this. You can bet that New Yorkers will not stand for this to fuel even more gridlock in their city.

If you have a letter from a retired cop who says it’s true, I guess we will have to believe it. By the way this cop wasn’t forced to retire because he lies was he? When you pray to your Lord and Savior ask him if there is some way you that you will see the truth or at least most of it. Maybe ask for some common sense too.
I would like to see if Christians wanted to have “church” in the streets every Sunday, what would be said. Or we were to have a national parade for Christ, let’s see what would happen? This country is in trouble. Open your eyes America. This is not only a religious movement, its also a political movement. They want to take over and before you know it Sharia law will be in effect too.
One day, every Knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Michelle, that is my question also. Would they allow Christians to have a similar parade and pray in the streets, as they allow muslims to do? I have searched the internet for an answer to this question, and have not gotten a satisfactory one. We as a nation are “getting used to the dark”.

Well, how many stories are we reading about government wanting crosses removed from public areas, scripture quotes being taken down from public areas, how about mangers not being allowed to be displayed at Christmas time, or “Christian” Christmas carols being removed from stores? Was it last year where the ‘left’ wanted people to NOT say “Merry Christmas” anymore, but instead say “happy holidays”?
THIS is the problem which is making conservatives / Christians upset. We’ve proven our tolerance in this country. We’ve allowed the freedom of all other religions in this country, now all conservatives / Christians want in return is the same fair treatment!!!!

I am a Christian and have no fear of Muslims. I do have a fear of lying Christians who are filled with hatred and lies. Jesus did not fear. Jesus did not lie. Jesus did not try to set man against man. I will continue in the truth of my God and ignore these falshoods. These photos are from a once a year event that is sanctioned by the City of New York. It has been an annual event for the past 26 years. Wake up!
In the Bible it states that there will be no liars in heaven. So if you so dearly want Christ to return soon I assume you do not want to be in the group classed as liars as you won’t be ready. As Christians it is our responsibility to ensure that things we spread are true, honest, of good report etc. A cursory examination through google will show this is a hoax. It is a sanctioned, once a year, Sunday parade authorised by the city of New York. The parade has been held since 1985 so was Bush responsible when he was in office? Was Bush a muslim then? Of course not. Note the US flag in one of the pictures. If you don’t believe it is of a once a year parade look at New York papers online about the last Sunday of any September for reports. As a Christian who wants to be ready when Christ returns it is really your responsibility to correct this dissemination of lies and tell people the real truth. Whether you are happy about muslims in the US is not a factor in your responsibility to tell the truth.

May I suggest if you are afraid of “lying Christians filled with hate and lies” – you might also be afraid of lying muslims who are filled with hate and lies. When is the last time you saw a “lying Christian” stone a woman to death, behead a man (Daniel Pearl for example – lest we forget) because he was a Jew, “honor” kill a woman because she wouldn’t take abuse from a muslim husband or father, kill a person because they were homosexual, strap bombs on their children … and the list goes on and on. I am a veteran and the war could have ended sometime ago if it were fought as a war and not over our enemies rights and emotions and political correctness. Obama(NOT MY PRESIDENT) openly stated his position of our nation in his book and in his actions.He is anti American and I dont care what he or anyone who supports him may say.The communist doctrine states to destroy from within and the Muslims (whom by the way are primarily the TERRORIST of the world) have adopted this doctrine and the Obama Gov’t has assisted in the destuction of America for the muslim goal since taking office.
I am and will always be a Christian American and if civil/Holy war is what Obama is pushing for he is well on the path. I will Openly state I am Christian and will bend my knees before God and never to the will of any muslim! They wish my silence but the truth is right there in our faces each day and we can not afford to to overlook it any longer. Jesus stood up for each one us so I am obliged to do the same for him. How strong is your faith to God? Where is your heart,will you vote in the next election based on color or politics? Pray on things each day large and small,pray for our nation to be Openly Christian again,do what is right in your heart and not based on fear of the Govt. Too many churches fear the Govt and remain silent and that is helping our enemies with their cause.Lets act as other nations do without thought…follow our faith or keep your mouth shut or get out….PERIOD. What can the Govt di if we as a nation choose to openly pray as Christians and stick up for our faith? Really…. the Govt cant do a thing ! May God Bless America and good Christian people who will defend it as our founding Fathers did.
If you disagree with me that is your right, but think about this…your tolerance of those other religions and tolerance of our Govt presuming to know better than God will be your downfall while I and those likeminded will remain on the front line with you still in our prayers.Read a Christian Bible and do your best to follow Gods word.
