wrote the following on my blog, seen at the end of the Post, HERE:
“Why do you ignore the parable of the wheat and the tares?
Jesus clearly says that the tares will be gathered first and cast into the fire. then the wheat. One harvest not 2 or 3 as you propose. (I will tackle this statement as Point #1 in this post.
Others posts will be made for the other statements, so that I don’t bore readers with too long of a post.)
The saints who did not worship the beast, or take his mark take part in the first resurrection, so the anti-Christ and the great tribulation are already in play before the first resurrection. Do you claim there is a resurrection or rapture before the 1st resurrection? The dead in Christ will rise first then those who remain will be caught up in the air to meet Him and be with the Lord forever.
I am pretty sure that would include Daniel. (I will tackle this statement as Point #2 in a separate post.)
Also important to note that in the book of Daniel he told when he will rise to his reward. chapter 12; 13 But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
The end of days is pretty clear. And if the dead in Christ rise first that includes Daniel, how can the church go before them? (I will tackle this statement as Point #2 in my second post.)
The parable of the 10 virgins states that the 5 who were not ready when He came for them, went out and filled their lamps but were not allowed to enter after they filled them. This would imply that after the harvest or rapture it is too late for salvation. (I will tackle this statement as Point #1 in this post.)
The great tribulation is when the Christians are persecuted, at the hands of the anit-christ [sic]. God’s wrath comes to those who persecuted them. The saints will be passed over by God’s wrath just as the Jews where passed over by God’s wrath in Egypt. Because their door posts where covered by blood just as we are covered by the Blood of Jesus today.” (I will tackle this statement as Point #2 in my second post.)
I think this is an important conversation to have in light of the new LEFT BEHIND movie that is soon to hit the big screen, and I think it is an important conversation to have in light of the recent beheading in Okalahoma, USA (in September 2014 … see HERE) and in light of the first 1st-world ebola victim also appearing in the USA (September 30, 2014 … see HERE).
The “Left Behind” writers, and others like Jack Van Impe, believe the Church will be taken away from the Earth BEFORE any trouble … known as Tribulation in Christian circles … occurs. They have taught many Believers that the Church will escape ALL of the trouble that is to come upon the Earth, as foretold by Jesus in Matthew 24:13:
“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.”
To have our theology correct regarding when, or if, the Church will be raptured could mean the difference between eternal salvation and eternal damnation for some who think they were supposed to be raptured before any real trouble happens on the Earth, and so they could loose all hope or faith in God and His eternal Word upon hearing about these latest events.
The faith of some truly could be challenged to the point of giving up on God all together, or be challenged to the point of believing the Anti-Christ is actually Christ Jesus as he appears with his lying signs and wonders, and so I wanted to answer in detail this Anonymous Commenter.
With all of that said, I also wanted to remind my readers that I have been reading and
|“…they examined the Scriptures every day
to see if what Paul said was true…”
re-reading the Word of God … over and over, from cover to cover… since leaving all charismatic churches in June 2012. And as I read, I continue to ask God to sanctify me from incorrect doctrine and incorrect thinking, as I look to believe God at His Word only and erase false doctrines of man put into my thinking by the many years of sitting in charismatic churches … something that should be done by ALL believers, by the way, no matter which church/denomination you sit in since no preacher is teaching entirely correct doctrine.
“Why do you ignore the parable of the wheat and the tares? Jesus clearly says that the tares will be gathered first and cast into the fire. then the wheat. One harvest not 2 or 3 as you propose.”
It is in Matthew 13 where Jesus speaks of the tares and the
wheat, of which you write. Jesus tells us that,
“ – … just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. – The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, – and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 13)
Notice His terminology here?
Jesus speaks of a place which He calls a “furnace of fire”, where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth”. Jesus also spoke of “weeping and gnashing of teeth” in Matthew 25:30, Matthew 8:12, Luke 13:28, Matthew 24:51,
and Matthew 22:13. Please read these verses to have the context fresh in your memory as I continue.
Now compare every place that Jesus spoke of “weeping and gnashing of teeth” to the times that Jesus actually spoke of HELL in places like Mark 9:42-48, where He says clearly that hell has “UNQUENCHABLE FIRE” and “their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”. See also Matthew 5:30, Matthew 18:8, and Matthew25:41 where Jesus is clear in stating hell has “unquenchable” or “eternal” fire, and note how Jesus names it clearly, “hell”.
The difference in Jesus’ language shows us that He is not talking about the same place in these different teachings, and the difference in His language shows that He is not speaking of the two same time periods of judgment.
In other words, there is a place and a time where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” which is different from the place of hell where there is eternal and unquenchable fire.
So what is the place and/or time of “weeping and gnashing of teeth”?
I believe this is the time when God’s Wrath will be poured upon the Earth, when it will be a dark time (ie: “outer darkness” spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 25:30,
Matthew 22:13, and Matthew 8:12) and when the people who thought they were Christians, but who witness God “shut the door on them” during the rapture (see
Matthew 25:1-13) will be weeping and gnashing their teeth due to their foolishness (as shown in Matthew 25:1-13) which cost them their ability to escape the time of God’s Wrath upon the Earth, in which they will find themselves living in.
BUT … what then is the “furnace of fire” in the teaching of the tares and the wheat?
Matthew 13: reads:
“… and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of
This time of fire is the time of the Wrath of God, I believe, which is described by Peter when he writes in 2 Peter 3:7
“But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.”
The parable of the 10 virgins states that the 5 who were not ready when He came for them, went out and filled their lamps but were not allowed to enter after they filled them. This would imply that after the harvest or rapture it is too late for salvation.
29“But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30“And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
31“And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
36“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
37“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
38“For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
40“Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.
41“Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.
Notice the many statements that Jesus makes:
1 – There will be tribulation BEFORE Christians are taken away (Matthew 24:29)
4 – As in the days of Noah, so shall it be for the Rapture of the Church (Matthew 24:37)
5 – As Noah entered the Ark and was taken away from experiencing the wrath of God, so the ready and prepared Church will be taken away in Rapture (Matthew 24:39), for
7 – Indeed, one shall be taken (in Rapture) and one shall be left behind (Matthew 24:41).
If this isn’t clear enough, it is repeated in Luke 17:
24“… so will the Son of Man be in His day. …
26“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28“It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
29but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
30“It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. …
32“Remember Lot’s wife.
33“Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
34“I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.
35“There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.
3 – Noah entered the Ark = Noah was taken away, or separated, from the sinners/unbelievers (Luke 17:27)
4 – And Lot was taken “OUT” of the city (Luke 17:29)
6 – Again, one will be TAKEN and the other will be left behind (Luke 17:35)
To me, these Scriptures are very clear that the Church will be RAPTURED and taken away from the Earth … not left on the Earth … before the time of God’s Wrath. Also note that the Church will be present during the beginning trouble, or Tribulation, as Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24:29, but after the beginning of trouble, the Church is Raptured and THEN the Wrath of God begins:
15 — Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
May God bless each reader and sanctify each of us with His Truth!
Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. – Revelation 3:10
