Sinkholes:  Is the Earth swallowing up people and things at a more frequent rate than in the past?  I personally had not heard of so many sinkholes reported in past years, compared to what I am currently hearing, and because I think a lot about the End of the Age and the Return of Jesus Christ to Earth, I am wondering if the current rate in which the Earth is swallowing up people and things is a Sign that the End of the Age could be coming upon us.

After all, the Bible tells us that great signs and wonders will be taking place, before the Day of the Lord:

And so with the Acts Chapter 2 Scripture in mind, I report on the latest sinkholes that are swallowing up people and things around the world … and this post is showing the sinkholes that have appeared in the month of MARCH 2013 alone!

Illinois – March 12, 2013
WATERLOO • It sure wasn’t the hole-in-one Mark Mihal had in mind.

While golfing with friends at the Annbriar Golf Course
near here Friday, Mihal, 43, a mortgage broker from Creve Coeur,
abruptly dropped into the ground on the fairway of the 14th hole. It was
the first time a person — and not a ball — has disappeared beneath the
turf in the course’s 20-year history.
It also was the first time in the memory of folks who study sinkholes in Illinois that a person has fallen into one. (Full Article HERE)

Florida – March 5, 2013
Seffner, Florida (CNN) — The ground just swallowed him up.
A Florida man fell into a sinkhole that opened suddenly Thursday night beneath the bedroom of his suburban Tampa home, calling out to his brother for help as he fell, the brother said Friday.
“I ran toward my brother’s bedroom because I heard my brother scream,” Jeremy Bush told CNN’s “AC360.”
“Everything was gone. My brother’s bed, my brother’s dresser, my brother’s TV. My brother was gone.” (Full Article HERE)

Louisiana – March 25, 2013
According to the Assumption Parish Police Jury website, the
giant Louisiana sinkhole in Assumption Parish swallowed 25 more trees
Monday night. (Full Article HERE)

China – March 15, 2013

A truck driver in China found himself in a precarious situation after
his vehicle was swallowed up by the ground in the latest sinkhole

A giant 30ft deep and 20ft wide hole opened up beneath the man who was passing through Kunming, Yunnan province at the time.

Newcastle, CA – March 18, 2013
When Mark Korb woke up Sunday morning, he noticed the man-made pond on his property
didn’t look the way it did when he went to bed.
“This looks like the moon,” said Korb, pointing at a sinkhole that caused a pond to drain onto his property.  (Full Article HERE)

So, could the seeming increase in sinkholes be a Sign?  Could we actually be seeing the Acts Chapter 2 Scripture being fulfilled when we hear of another sinkhole opening up in the Earth?   And even if sinkholes aren’t a Sign that the End of the Age is upon us, they should make us pause and give thought as to where we will go when we die.  And so I ask:  are you preparing yourself to meet Jesus Christ when He returns or when you die?

The SinkHole.org has posted a
“Top Ten Sinkholes” article which can be found HERE.

The UK’s Daily Mail has written:
“A swarm of an estimated 30million insects has been devastating crops in Egypt, fuelling [sic] apocalyptic fears because of the infestation’s proximity to the Bible story of Passover in which a swarm of locusts, the eighth of ten plagues, is imposed on Egyptians by God for enslaving and abusing ancient Hebrews.”

Article and photo from the Daily Mail, UK HERE

One commenter summed the event up, for me, when writing:

[I’m] Not religious, but the world is beginning to look like the bible …

Indeed, the world is beginning to look like the Bible … “beginning” being a key word, for things will get much worse:

Passover plague: The bugs have fueled apocalyptic fears because of the

of locusts, the eighth of ten plagues, is imposed on Egyptians by God

Revelation 9–

3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
5 They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man.
6 During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. …

20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Dear Reader, won’t you repent of your sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ today so that you may escape the coming Wrath of God?

Acts 3 —

19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
20 and that He may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
21 He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets.

We do not know how much longer it will be before we see the Lord Jesus Christ returning to rule the Earth, so it would be wisest to turn from sin and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ now, to avoid the Wrath that is coming and receive the above promised “times of refreshing” now, rather than waiting.

Mark 13 —

28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door.
30 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Indeed, it would be wise for everyone to make sure we are ready for Christ’s Return!

How can we know when the THE END of this Age is actually upon us?
What will be the signs of THE END of this Age?

This question has been asked for generations and many in each generation, seeing what trouble and/or terrible injustices are taking place around them during their lives, have wondered if they were witnessing The End of The Age.

But Jesus made it clear what the Signs would be, the progression of the Signs, and even foretold that the Generation who witnesses all the Signs taking place would be THE Generation to witness The End.  All we have to do is look to the Bible to read what the Signs will be.

But many say to me, “Such signs have always been happening, throughout the many generations, so you can’t be sure THIS is The End of the Age“.

Yes, this is true, but have the Signs currently started happening in greater extremes?  Did the Signs ever in the past, start happening closer together, in closer time periods, and were any of the Signs that Jesus spoke of all happening at the exact same time?

Jesus said the Signs of The End would come as BIRTH PAINS (Matthew 24:8) and birth pains, as we know, start to come QUICKER together and they become more EXTREME or intense in their volume / pain.  Birth pains are very large, very painful, and come together most rapidly right before the “Child is revealed“.

And so today I post a video below.  This one video is a quick snapshot of the world’s natural disasters, or strange occurrences, which have occurred in the month of DECEMBER 2012 ONLY.   It shows how large and extreme the natural disasters are becoming upon the face of the Earth and how such large disasters are becoming more frequent.

Again, Jesus warned that natural disasters, and wars and revolutions, were the BEGINNING of the Birth Pains of the End of the Age.  And so we should heed His other warnings recorded in Matthew 24:

32“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Jesus is warning the World about all the events which WILL be happening right before His Return.   Read Matthew 24.  Study the other Passages which also tell of the Signs that will be taking place just before Christ’s Return.  Matthew 24:9 tells that PERSECUTION comes right after the initial Birth Pains take place … and the initial Birth Pains is seemingly what we are currently seeing take place all over the Earth.  So please, make sure your life is right with the Lord Jesus Christ and that you are not asleep, lukewarm, or backslidden.

Matthew 24 —

42“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49and he then begins to beat his fellow servants (1 John 3:15) and to eat and drink with drunkards50The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So many refuse to believe that a Christian can wind up in Hell.  But really, what does Matthew 24:48-51 tell us?  It tells us that a lifestyle of living for self, hating and hurting the brethren, and eating and playing with drunkards will wind us up in Hell with the other hypocrites…”where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth“.

So please my dear brothers and sisters, whether you believe you can loose your salvation or not, will you at least see that the Signs of The End of This Age are upon us … they are here with great intensity and in greater frequency … and make sure you are living in a way that is pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ?  So what if I am wrong and The End of This Age is still many hundreds of years away … YOUR END is more near today than it was yesterday.  So won’t you please make sure you are ready to meet the Lord?

1 John 3 —

But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

2 Peter 3 —

10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.a11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.

May God bless all who read this post with the wisdom to prepare themselves for the Return of the Lord and for the Judgment Seat of Christ.   Amen.

(c) Is Christ Soon To Return

It was in May 2012 that I last wrote about Natural Disasters affecting the world (see HERE) and perhaps being a sign that Christ could soon return, so lets take a look at what has been happening around the world since last May.

It is in Matthew 24 that we see the disciples asking Jesus:

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

To which Jesus replied:

4 Jesus answered: Watch out that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,a’ and will deceive many.

Christ’s first statement is, “Watch out that no one deceives you”.   Interesting.  Is deception on the rise in the church?  …  for Jesus said many would come in HIS name and deceive many.  If you take a look through my category titled “Charismatic Doctrines: Are They Biblical?” you can see just a couple topics that are currently being preached in Charismatic circles which have no Scriptures as backing.  And this is just one denomination of Christianity.

There are also Christian Leaders who preach that homosexuals can look forward to heaven such as “Alan Chambers President of Exodus International” (see HERE)

And have you heard that Wycliffe seems to be sanitizing the Bible from the Word “Son” when describing  Jesus Christ?  Wycliffe (and other translators perhaps?) are also changing the name of the Father to Allah as well in Muslim countries … or countries where there are a large number of Muslims … to appease Muslim populations, as seen in this translation of Matthew 28:19 — ‘Cleanse them by water in the name of Allah, his Messiah and his Holy
’  Do you think it is okay to change the Names of the God of the Bible in order to appease Muslims?  Do you think the Apostles would have done such?

So, deception … the first sign that Christ said would show that He is Soon To Return … is already here.  And increasing I believe, in the name of “love”, “tolerance”, and “acceptance”.

Next Matthew 24 states:

6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

It is said that the Greek word for NATION is ETHNOS, so that the above verse could read “ethnos will rise against ethnos“, or in other words, ethnicity against ethnicity.

Such is taking place all over the world:

…local groups documented 3,500 civilian dead as of November 15 (2011) in the Syria uprising (see HERE)

July 1, 2012 Reuters reports: “Iran announced missile tests on Sunday and threatened to wipe Israel “off the face of
the earth” if the Jewish state attacked it”

On August 13th, the UK’s Telegraph reports: “A surge of violence in Egypt’s Sinai desert this week is heightening Israeli
concerns about what officials and analysts describe as the growing presence
of al-Qaeda-linked jihadis along the Jewish state’s borders.”

And Christians are still being persecuted in Nigeria as reported HERE:  “Hundreds of Christians have begun fleeing northern Nigeria after dozens were killed in a series of attacks by Islamist militants who issued an ultimatum to Christians to leave the mainly Muslim region or be killed”

A quick google search on the latest uprisings in Nations all over the world will show in detail how hatred and mass killings currently cover the Globe.

Matthew 24 goes on to read:

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

22 Feb 2012:  “In July 2011 the UN formally declared famine in two regions of Somalia.” (see HERE)

There is a USAID page which shows the following chart:

And on July 23, 2012 the UK’s Guardian reported:  “US drought could trigger repeat of global food crisis, experts warn” (see HERE)

It is also devastating to read that: Children are being abandoned on Greece’s streets by their poverty-stricken families who cannot afford to look after them any more.” (seen HERE) which seems to tie in to another Sign that Christ predicted would happen just before His Return, when he stated:

12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold …

At least we are not yet seeing what has been predicted in Lamentations 4:

10 With their own hands compassionate women
have cooked their own children,
who became their food
when my people were destroyed.
11 The Lord has given full vent to his wrath; he has poured out his fierce anger.
As we scroll down in Matthew 24 we read:
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it (the day of the Christ’s Return) is near, right at the door.
34 I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
We very likely could be that generation which is witnessing the beginning of the End.

Natural disasters seem to be occurring at more frequent rates (see report HERE), the love of people seems to be decreasing even if just because people don’t seem to have enough time to even think of people other than themselves in 1st world countries, and persecution can be found in many countries around the world in varying degrees.

One final, terrifying Sign will be:
15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel…
I still believe that the Church will not be around to see this anti-christ deceiver sitting in the temple in Jerusalem proclaiming himself to be ‘god’, according to 2 Thessalonians 2, which reads:
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?
6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.
7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now
it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
I believe the “he” found in verse 7 (“til he is taken out of the way”) is the Body of Christ since the Body of Christ will appear WITH Jesus at the end of this age to overthrow this anti-christ deceiver.  Therefore, the Body of Christ must already be in Heaven and have enjoyed the Marriage Supper of the Lamb if the Body is to return with Christ at Christ’s return!

I also see in other Scriptures that the Body of Christ must be taken “out of the way” in order for the Wrath of God to be allowed to be loosed on the Earth, for Christians have been saved from wrath:

9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 5:9
10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth. – or “out of the hour of trial” according to the Darby Translation – Revelation 3:10
… but I am reading the post- and mid-trib writings Readers, so feel free to keep posting Scriptures.

With all of the different Signs happening around the World, I ask:

Will YOU be ready for Christ’s Return?

Please do yourself the greatest favor and think about where you will spend eternity?  Search the Scriptures and see that you must walk in holiness in order to be with the Lord, for I truly desire that you will be in Heaven for all eternity!

Hebrews 12: 4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them
for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and
10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God
disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.
11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however,
it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been
trained by it.
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.
13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
15 See to it that no one misses the grace of God…

God bless all who are looking for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!

According to the EM-DAT, the total natural disasters reported each year has been steadily increasing in recent decades, from 78 in 1970 to 348 in 2004.

Regarding 2011 Natural Disasters alone, it is reported:

Swiss Re (SREN) Ltd., the world’s second- biggest reinsurer, said natural catastrophes cost the insurance industry $110 billion last year after record flooding and earthquake losses.

And if one were a student of Bible Prophecy one would state:
This has all been predicted by Jesus Christ as what would take place before His 2nd Return.”

It was overwhelming to me to find, read, and paste the following SAMPLINGS of what is going on around the world, in 2012 alone.  And it is only May!

So lets compare what Christ said would be taking place just before His 2nd Return with the News which is reporting the current Natural Disasters that have taken place in 2012, and lets see if indeed there may be some signs which indicate that Jesus Christ’s 2nd Return may be closer than some think.

Famines are occurring, and I suspect may grow in number, due to the current climate changes we are experiencing throughout the world.  The below News Reports will show how the climate has been extreme in 2012 (as well as in 2011) and is therefore expected to disturb food production this year.

As bacteria evolve to evade antibiotics, common infections could become deadly, according to Dr. Margaret Chan, director general of the World Health Organization.
Speaking at a conference in Copenhagen, Chan said antibiotic resistance could bring about “the end of modern medicine as we know it.” …

Chan said hospitals have become “hotbeds for highly-resistant pathogens” like methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, “increasing the risk that hospitalization kills instead of cures.” …
Antibiotic-resistant strains of salmonella, E. coli, and gonorrhea have also been discovered. …
The dearth of effective antibiotics could also make surgical procedures and certain cancer treatments risky or even impossible, Chan said.  …
“At a time of multiple calamities in the world, we cannot allow the loss of essential antimicrobials, essential cures for many millions of people, to become the next global crisis,” said Chan.  (Original – and sobering – Article HERE)

20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
21thati the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the
redemption of our bodies. – Romans 8, NIV

If you read the Scripture verses preceding each category of News Reports, you could have noted the exhortation by Christ Himself, Who repeated, “Don’t be terrified” and “The end does not follow immediately“.  In other words the End of this Age is still not here and we still have more time to go through as things continue to get worse (as outlined in the Book of Revelation, when things are unbearable for those who go through the Great Tribulation because they would not repent and follow God before the Tribulation Period).

So prepare yourself now before things gets worse!

How?  By giving your life totally over to Jesus Christ, allowing Him to be your Lord and Master as well as Savior.  Don’t play games with God, saying “I believe” but not following His commands.  Prepare yourself now …  while there is still time to get prepared.

Luke 21:

25“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
29He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. 30When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. 31Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
32“I tell you the truth, this generationb will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
34“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

And 2 Peter 3:

11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.b That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
14So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
