Should America, and/or any other Nation, attack or try to stop the ruling powers of Syria because of the chemical attack that the Government seems to have launched on its own citizens in Damascus?  If this is the end of Damascus, as prophesied by Isaiah approximately 700 years before Christ, then the answer is, There is no point in any Nation trying to stop Syria and/or save Damascus,  for God Himself will be found fighting against the Nations of the world as they try to save Damascus.  Isaiah predicted:

Isaiah 17:12 – Listen! The armies of many nations roar like the roaring of the sea. Hear the thunder of the mighty forces as they rush forward like thundering waves.
13 – But though they thunder like breakers on a beach, God will silence them, and they will run away. They will flee like chaff scattered by the wind, like a tumbleweed whirling before a storm.
14 – In the evening Israel waits in terror, but by dawn its enemies are dead. This is the just reward of those who plunder us, a fitting end for those who destroy us.

Whenever God decides to punish, there is none who can save.  No man can stand against God’s plans or against God’s power.

So, could this be the end of Damascus as Isaiah foretold:

Isaiah 17:1 – This message came to me concerning Damascus:
“Look, the city of Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins.
2 – The towns of Aroer will be deserted. Flocks will graze in the streets and lie down undisturbed, with no one to chase them away.
3 – The fortified towns of Israela will also be destroyed, and the royal power of Damascus will end. All that remains of Syriab will share the fate of Israel’s departed glory,” declares the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
I truly pray that all who come across this Post will prepare themselves for the End of this Age and prepare themselves to be judged by the Great Judge, the Lord Jesus Christ.
No man can know exactly what time it is on God’s Timetable, and so we do not know if this is the end for Damascus, but your end is inevitable, and I pray you will take seriously the Words of God which forewarn you of your standing before Him in the afterlife.  Will you be seen as forgiven, because you have believed in Jesus Christ AND lived in obedience to His Words … or will you be thrown into the eternal Lake of Fire because you have refused to receive God’s gift of forgiveness?  The choice is up to you.  Please, dear reader…choose LIFE.
Revelation 1:7 – Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.  And everyone will see Him—  even those who pierced Him.  And all the nations of the world will mourn for Him.
Yes! Amen!
Revelation 20: 15 – And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
