The following 9 points are taken from Derek Prince’s teaching entitled,
Take Heed That You Are Not Deceived“.

I have added supporting Scriptures beneath each of the points that he gives.

Derek believes that by observing these 9 points we can keep ourselves from being deceived in the End Times.

1 – Remember that it is by God’s mercy that we will not be deceived

We should humbly accept this Truth and thank Him for guarding us.

John 3:27, “John answered, ‘A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.’ ”

2 – It is by cultivating humility and a Fear of the Lord that we will be kept from deception.

Derek then quotes Proverbs 9:10, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
and
Proverbs 1:7, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge“.

He then states that  the fear of the Lord is THE BEGINNING, meaning it is the foundational Truth for wisdom and knowledge.

3 – We must base absolutely everything … every experience, every prophecy, every doctrine, etc … on the Scriptures.

Psalm 119:160 “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever”

4 – We need to focus on Jesus alone, and not extra spiritual revelation because the Word says:

For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus(Revelation 19:10)
and
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you(John 16:13-14).

Don’t these 2 Scriptures show clearly that prophecy should be glorifying JESUS and not man?!

5 – We need to leave extra revelation with God.  If He wants to show us something, He will.  We should not be obsessed with new revelation / special revelation.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29)

6 – We need to be wary of fantastic sounding prophecies and new revelation.  Fantasy abounds within the charismatic prophetic circles these days, and will only get worse.  Stay within the boundaries of Scripture!
Colossians 2:18, “Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.”
7 – Keep things simple and plain.  Paul spoke of “the simplicity of the Gospel”.  It is the pride and arrogance of man that makes one want to sound wise or extra spiritual.

“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2-3, NASB)

8 – Cultivate discernment!  Don’t sit in any meeting, or listen to any preacher/teacher, without checking and weighing and judging all things said against the written Word of God.

1 Corinthians 14:29, “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.”
9 – Cultivate a LOVE of the Truth.  Not just a toleration of Truth, nor an acceptance so that if it is spoken around you, you are okay with it, but cultivate a hunger and desire and love for Truth.  A strong passion and desire to read and get into God’s Word and a desire to study and know God’s Word for yourself.

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)

An absolute love for the Truth will be the only way that we will be able to discern if a lie is being preached!

My ending thought:

If we LOVE the Truth, we will want to stand on the Truth and stand up for Truth NO MATTER what the consequences!  We will not go with the flow and accept what the crowd accepts to keep “unity” or to spare ourselves from being ostracized and persecuted!  We will LOVE the Truth no matter what and stand up for the Truth in the exact literal way in which it is written!

God bless you abundantly as you stand for Truth and look for the coming of our Savior and Lord!

7 And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” 8And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.
– Luke 21, ESV

Note:  Jesus said, “See that you are not led astray”

It seems that the matter of being deceived is up to us!  Therefore choose carefully which preacher you listen to, and please continually read your Bible so that you can weigh all teachings against the Word of God!

10 Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you …
16You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. 17 You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. 18But not a hair of your head will perish. 19By your endurance you will gain your lives.
– Luke 21, ESV

Note:  Jesus said, “But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you“.

Persecution will come to the Body of Christ, world-wide, before the great and fearful wars and earthquakes predicted here, in Revelation and elsewhere.  Some of our brothers and sisters are already experiencing this persecution in the Middle East and in Africa.   Pray for them today … to remain faithful to the End, to have the grace to forgive their persecutors, for miraculous intervention should the Lord will, and for them to speak boldly the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His coming Kingdom to their persecutors … for tomorrow you may need such prayers yourself.

20“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. 23 Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
– Luke 21, ESV

For those who are left behind and miss the Rapture (the Rapture is revealed in Matthew 24:31 and discussed HERE), they will see Jerusalem surrounded by armies and they will witness the most terrifying rage and anger being poured upon Jews that the world has not seen before.  It will be the time of the “Gentiles” trampling Jerusalem underfoot!  God uses armies of the world to do His bidding (see HERE and HERE) so the natural eye will see armies of men surrounding Jerusalem and slaughtering the Jewish people.  Do not think that there is no spiritual connection to such devastation!  This will actually be God’s doing … His Wrath being poured out, as He told usas He purifies His people from the sin of rejecting His own Son, and as He gets them ready to receive Messiah Jesus in His Return to rule the Earth.

34 – “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. 35For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
– Luke 21, ESV

Question:  Can you see that you are actually able to avoid … or “escape” … “ALL these things that are going to take place” on the Earth?

“How?” you might ask.

By obeying the Word of God and doing what it says to do; by watching that you are Rapture Ready and not letting yourself become side-tracked or “weighed down with dissipation or drunkenness or the cares of this life”…

dis·si·pa·tion

noun \ˌdi-sə-ˈpā-shən\

: the process of slowly disappearing or becoming less

: the act of using all or a lot of money, time, etc., in a foolish way

: behavior that shows you are interested only in pleasure, money, etc.

… and by watching that you are not deceived into believing God is something other than what the Bible tells us about Himself.

Watch out for deception, dear readers, and watch out for a carnal or sin-filled heart which loves the pleasure of this world more than loving God and His commands and purposes for our lives.  Love God with all that is within you, and your neighbor as much as you love yourself.  And pray that you will be “counted worthy to escape (or avoid, or miss) all these things that shall come to pass” (the KJV, Aramaic Bible in Plain English, Jubilee 2000, AKJV, Douay-Rheims, Darby Translation, Webster’s, World English Bible, and the Young’s Literal Translation all state “counted worthy to escape“)

Please pray this also for me.  Thank you.

“…[W]e have little hope of convincing those who have drunk deeply into the spirit of error. The poison is already in their veins, vitiating in them all that once seemed like truth and simplicity.

As infidelity, when once it has got full possession of the mind, rejects the clearest evidences from positive inability to credit them, so error, when once it has poisoned the heart, renders it for ever afterwards, in the great majority of instances, utterly incapable of receiving the truth.

Against every text that may be brought forward in support of truth an objection is started, a false interpretation offered, a counter statement made, an opposing passage quoted— the object evidently being not to bow down to truth, but to make truth bow down to error; not to submit in faith to the Word of God, but to make the Word of God itself bend and yield to the determined obstinacy of a mind prejudiced to its lowest depths.”

9The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
– 2 Thessalonians 2:11, ESV

Hebrews 10 says:

26 – For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 – but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.
28 – Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 – How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 – For we know Him who said, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.” And again, “THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.”
31 – It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Fight for your freedom.
Don’t take on-going sin in your life lightly.
Take to fasting and prayer, in your fight for freedom, if need be.
Make freedom from on-going and persistent sin, your goal and desire.
Fear God and hate evil.

Christ was brutally punished and died so that you could be freed from the power of sin (Romans 6), so please do not treat Christ’s blood as ‘common’ (NLT) and insult God’s Spirit of grace.

Who will be the main characters involved in the Great End Times War, called Armageddon in Revelation 16?

It is shown in Ezekiel 38 that the Lord Himself will cause Russia to come down from the North to invade Israel:

Ezekiel 38: 1 -The word of the Lord came to me: 2 -“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him 3 and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. 5 Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, 6 also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.

As seen in the map above, Gog and Magog is currently thought to be Russia, with the Biblical name of Meshech meaning Moscow.

We also see Arab Nations mentioned in this Ezekiel Passage with PERSIA being current day IRAN and with the below map showing us who current day Cush and Put are.

What we see in the Ezekiel 38 Passage above is Russia and the Arab Nations seemingly in an alliance (even as we see in Today’s News Headlines … see HERE for one example).  Daniel 11 also confirms that in the beginning the Arab Nations will be an ally WITH the North (with the North, again, being currently thought of as Russia)…

Daniel 11:
6
After some years, they will become allies. The daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to make an alliance, but she will not retain her power, and he and his power will not last.

… but as with all power-hungry tyrants, keeping peace with any other power-seeking ruler will be a hard thing to do as their individual desires for power and dominance will put them at odds with one another eventually, as Daniel predicts:

Daniel 11:

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land. (The Beautiful Land is Israel / Jerusalem, as seen in Psalm 48:2.)  Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.
42 He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43 He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission. 44 But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.

It is here in Daniel 11 that we are introduced to trouble starting in the EAST.  As we will see below, Revelation 16 shows that it is the Kings (or Rulers) of the East who also desire to war against Israel and take power.

Is it interesting to you that current news shows that Russia and China have also entered into an agreement with each other for “political co-operation and border security” and that Russia and China are currently supporters of Syria (Last month Russia and China joined forces in their third double veto on the Syrian crisis to strike down a resolution that would have called for an end to the violence and threatened Damascus with sanctions.”), even as Russia is currently supporting Iran’s nuclear rights, however we know from Bible Prophecy that the King(s) of the East will also be engaged in this End Time War and it will not be on the side of Russia:

 Daniel 11:

43 He (the King of the North) will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission. 44 But reports from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will set out in a great rage to destroy and annihilate many.

Revelation 16 shows that the “Kings of the East” are indeed characters engaged in the Great End Times War, known also as Armageddon, as seen in the below Passage:

Revelation 16:
12
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.  … 16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

To me, the stage does seem to be getting “set” as these key players are making agreements and currently standing up for each other against the other Nations of the World.  By their current support of each other and their current disdain for Israel (see Russia’s accused disdain HERE and China’s HERE) they seem to be playing straight into God’s Hands … or actually God seems to be leading them by the nose straight into His plan:  His plan of His Wrath being poured upon the Earth.

The Wrath of God is coming people!  It may be closer than some are ready for. But you can prepare yourself and save yourself from the Wrath of God which is coming … even Today!  Won’t you please get yourself ready, Today!?!

Hebrews 3:
7
So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,  8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert … 12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Other interesting facts seen in the above Passages:

In Revelation 16 we see that:

1 – The River Euphrates will be dried up, so that people from the East can march over it.  See my article HERE which shows the Euphrates has already been drying up at a quick pace, and we see

2 – Demons will be possessing the Rulers, Kings, Presidents of the World in the End!  Terrifying times indeed!

The Nation of Israel will have returned to its homeland

Ezekiel 38 tells the time when this Last Day war would be taking place:

Ezekiel 38: 8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a
land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.

We can see that the Ezekiel Prophecies, therefore, are not ones that were fulfilled in years gone by before Israel once again became a Nation.

Another thing found in the above Passages is:

God brings Glory to His Name through this Terrible War called Armageddon

Ezekiel 38: 16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, O Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.

And

Ezekiel 39: 7 “‘I will make known my holy name among my people Israel. I will no longer let my holy name be profaned, and the nations will know that I the Lord am the Holy One in Israel. 8 It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign Lord. This is the day I have spoken of.

The are at least three ways that I can think of, why such a devastating war will bring glory to God:

1 – Glory to God could come when the war involving all these countries finally takes place and many in the world and/or in Israel might start to believe in the Lord God Almighty of the Bible Who foretold of this coming war, for Bible Prophecy shows that God is alive and knows and handles the future, and Bible Prophecy shows that the God of the Bible interacts with man by foretelling future events.

2 – Glory to God will also come when God shows Himself strong on behalf of Israel and saves such a tiny country from being destroyed by larger countries who have gathered together to destroy her.

3 – And finally, Glory to God will come when Christ sets up rule on Earth and all the peoples of the Earth will be forced to confess, “Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Romans 14:11, Philippians 2:10 and ISAIAH 45:23!)

The Above Bible Passages Also Show That The Bride of Christ is Separate and Distinct from The Elect of God, who is Israel

Revelation 19 shows that just before the finale of Armageddon, the Wedding Feast of the Bride takes place in Heaven:

Revelation 19:
9
Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

… and this Feast takes place BEFORE Christ finally returns to Earth to conquer those waring in the Armageddon war and to set up His Throne on Earth.

Revelation 19:9 Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” … 11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.

Again, the Church is seen RETURNING WITH Christ here and they have finished their Wedding Feast, therefore the CHURCH has been taken BEFORE the Wrath of God comes upon the Earth.

From Revelation 19 we see that the conclusion of the Ezekiel 38 & 39 War of Armageddon, takes place WHEN Christ Returns to the Earth, as Revelation continues to read:

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.” 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.

I heard a preacher state that the Great Supper of God (Revelation 19:17) is taking place at the same time that the Marriage Feast of the Lamb is taking place (Revelation 19:9) but I don’t see that here.  I see that when Christ Returns to the Earth and destroys His enemies with the “Word of His Mouth” it is THEN than that the Great Supper of God takes place, where:

Ezekiel 39:
12“‘For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land.
13All the people of the land will bury them, and the day I am glorified will be a memorable day for them, declares the Sovereign Lord.
… 17 “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Call out to every kind of bird and all the wild animals: ‘Assemble and come together from all around to the sacrifice I am preparing for you, the great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You will eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of the princes of the earth as if they were rams and lambs, goats and bulls—all of them fattened animals from Bashan. 19 At the sacrifice I am preparing for you, (this is why Revelation 19:17 calls it the great supper of God) you will eat fat till you are glutted and drink blood till you are drunk. 20 At my table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, mighty men and soldiers of every kind,’ declares the Sovereign Lord.

Again, Revelation 19 shows that this End Time War … Armageddon … is the war where the Lord Jesus Christ Returns with all His Holy Ones, therefore the Holy Ones (which is Christ’s Holy Church) have been raptured and they are in Heaven with Christ, enjoying the Wedding Feast:
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of
horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.” 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.
So We See That Armageddon Has Nothing To Do With Christians.
We Won’t Be Here
Christians must remember that this coming End Times War, called Armageddon, AND the Wrath of God is FOR ISRAEL.  It is because of Israel’s sin of rejecting God and His Messiah, that Israel is being punished:
Ezekiel 39:
23And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their offenses, and I hid my face from them
All of this is confirmed by the prophet Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 30:
1
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2 “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.
3 The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their forefathers to possess,’ says the Lord.” …  7 How awful that day will be!  None will be like it.  It will be a time of trouble for Jacob,  but he will be saved out of it.  8 “‘In that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will break the yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will foreigners enslave them. 9 Instead, they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. ‘Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only with justice; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’…  24 The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand this.
God has not called CHRISTIANS to suffer under His wrath, for we are saved from wrath and cleansed by the Blood of Messiah.  The End Times Great Tribulation and Armageddon War takes place in Israel and it is because of Israel’s sin!

1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:9
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
Revelation 3:10
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
Praise God today for His love and mercy shown to us by saving us through Jesus Christ’s dying in our place!!!  And whether you are a Jew or non-Jew reading this Post, you CAN BE SAVED from the Wrath of God which is to come upon the entire Earth!  Simply repent of your sins now and place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as the One Who took your place for the punishment for your sins!
Acts 2:
37
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Nuclear War Could Be How The Final War Will Be Fought

The end of Ezekiel 38 shows that it will be by hailstones and burning sulfur that Russia, Persia, and the Kings of the East will be destroyed:

Ezekiel 38:
21
I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.
23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.

We are given further enlightenment of this passage of Scripture by Peter, who prophecies the following:

2 Peter 3: 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. …  10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

Add to this the passage from Zechariah 14 which tells:

Zechariah 14:

12 This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will
rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13On that day men will be stricken by the Lord with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other. 14Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—great quantities of gold and silver and clothing.
15A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.

It is going to be a terrible time!  A terrifying time!  A time of great calamity and war.

Won’t you save yourself NOW before it is too late?  Won’t you save yourself and repent of your sins, before the Wrath of God is unleashed on the Earth?

2 Peter 3:
11
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. 14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

In conclusion, it seems that even the Jews are thinking about the Coming War foretold by Ezekiel, as seen in this current News Article found HERE.

I pray this Blog, and this particular Post, encourages you to live today as though Christ will be returning for you tonight!   Blessings and peace to all my readers and may we each have the wisdom to repent and prepare ourselves in holiness for the Rapture of the Church and to be saved from the coming Armageddon War!

(2012) Is Christ Soon To Return

Does the Bible predict a final and great End Time Revival?
Does it even matter if it is predicted in the Bible or not … can’t we just pray for it?

Of course we can pray for revival.  I am currently part of a small group of people who are praying for repentance and revival to come to our city, but the question is: Is a large and great revival, before Christ’s final return, predicted in the Bible?  And if it is not, what does that mean to us as Believers?

It such a revival is not predicted in the Bible,  it could mean that there is yet another deception, or misconstruing of Scripture, found as being taught as TRUTH in the Church.  It could point to the fact that yet again Christians are so indoctrinated by what the pulpits and televangelists promote, that Christians are simply believing and parroting what is told them without even knowing what the Bible truly says.  And if Christians are duped in thinking a GREAT END TIME REVIVAL is right around the corner, then what else are Christians being misled in?

So lets look and see what the Bible teaches about the End of This Age and lets see if a huge, great revival is truly predicted.

Matthew 22:8
“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.
9 Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’
10 So
the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they
could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was
filled with
guests.

And Luke 14 reads:
21 … ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’
22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’

23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.
24 I  tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

I’ve never actually heard the above noted Scriptures preached to support a great End Time Revival, but I held to these to try to support the belief.   I think, however, as I look at other Scriptures that I have posted below, I believe now that the above Scriptures are simply referring to the last TWO DAYS (or two thousand years – Psalm 90:4, 2 Peter 3:8) of this Age of Grace, where God has gone to the Gentiles (“anyone”, “crippled”, “blind”, etc =
heathen, not originally intended to come and who would have been considered “unclean”) to invite them to come into
the banquet, because the Jews, those initially “invited”, did not “deserve” or desire to come.

But the Scripture that I DO hear a lot … almost every week at the church that I attend as I attend a charismatic church which prays every week for the last Great Revival and Outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit which “has been predicted in the Bible” … is this:

Amos 9:13

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,

“when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman
and the planter by the one treading grapes.
New wine will drip from the mountains
and flow from all the hills.

It is explained in our church, quite excitedly, that this Passage predicts a time of harvesting souls that is so great, that those planting the Word will be quickly overtaken by those harvesting the souls.  In other words, people will be getting saved SO QUICKLY and SO EASILY, that just as one is just starting to preach to the unsaved, the unsaved will be reaped into the Kingdom effortlessly.  Quickly.  And in great numbers.

“After all”, it is further explained, “the Bible says, The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty.’ ”   (Whenever this Bible Passage is quoted, Haggai 2:9 is never referred to for the congregation to look it up.)
These are the only Passages of Scripture that I’ve heard preached to support this theory of the Great End Times Revival … if you have heard others, please let me know.  Why do I care?  Because this is not how I read the CONTEXT of Amos 9.  Or Haggai 2.
Amos 9:1 starts by describing the Judgment of the Lord coming to Israel, which is generally accepted as the Great Tribulation Period:
Amos 9:1
those who are left I will kill with the sword.
Not one will get away,
none will escape…
5 The Lord, the Lord Almighty,
he who touches the earth and it melts,
and all who live in it mourn—
I will shake the house of Israel
among all the nations
as grain is shaken in a sieve,
and not a pebble will reach the ground. …
10 All the sinners among my people
will die by the sword,
all those who say,
‘Disaster will not overtake or meet us.’
After verse 10, the heading in the Bible then reads:  Israel’s Restoration.  It then goes on to describe what I posted earlier:
“In that day I will restore
David’s fallen tent.
I will repair its broken places,
restore its ruins,
and build it as it used to be …
13 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman
and the planter by the one treading grapes.
New wine will drip from the mountains
and flow from all the hills.
14 I will bring back my exiledg people Israel;
they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant Israel in their own land,
never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,”
says the Lord your God.
Note verse 11: IN THAT DAY.  Which day?  The day AFTER the above verses which predicted judgment.  Now I’ve heard the Amos 9:1-10 read to support the Great Tribulation, which I believe, but I believe it can also support the Judgment that came upon Israel when Israel was destroyed and the Jews scattered from their homeland, for Amos 9:14 states:  I WILL BRING BACK MY EXILED PEOPLE ISRAEL; THEY WILL REBUILD THE RUINED CITIES AND LIVE IN THEM.  This could be seen as fulfilled in 1948 when Israel again became a Nation for the Jews.
Note:  Jewish History is the Christians warning.   The Old Testament which details the Jews’ rise and fall and/or obedience and disobedience, is an example for the Church and is supposed to teach us how to avoid the same failings of the Jews as they walked with God (ie: Hebrews 4:11).  Their judgment, prophesied by Old Testament Prophets, is sadly a prophetic warning to the Church about another Greater Judgment Day coming to all the Earth (ie: Hebrews 12:26), which I have described in other posts and which would take too long to cover again, here.

Therefore, going back to Amos 9:13, I see the CONTEXT of this Passage as being the Millennium, in which the whole Earth will be filled with the Glory of the Lord, as Christ rules on Earth, with the entire Earth being filled with righteousness and peace (Scripture examples:  Isaiah 35, Isaiah 55, Romans 8:18-25, and many others.)  The Earth will produce crops without hindrance, in abundance and quickly as Amos states above, the wolves will live in peace beside lambs without harming them, children will safely play near snakes nests, and “he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth” (Isaiah 11).

And what about Haggai 2?  I see the same pattern.    For Haggai 2 fully reads:

6 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
7 I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.
8 ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty.
9‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

Hebrews 12 interprets this Haggai Passage for us, when it teaches:

5 “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline …
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. …
14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. …
25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape
when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we,
if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?
26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once
more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”e
27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is,
created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be
thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
29for our “God is a consuming fire.”f

Remember proper Bible Interpretation (Biblical Hermeneutics)?  New Testament ALWAYS enlightens and teaches the meaning of Old Testament Passages.  (ie: “It is of the first importance to observe that, from a Christian point of view, the Old Testament cannot be fully apprehended without the help of the New.” found HERE.)

The Haggai 2 Passage, then, is also shown to be AFTER a time of Judgment from the Lord, according to Hebrews 12.  Hebrews 12 is shedding the best light we have on Haggai 2, since it is revealed by a New Covenant writer.  The Greater Glory of the House of the Lord comes AFTER Judgment.

So what, if anything, does the Bible predict for the End Times?  Here are a few Scriptures:

2 Thessalonians 2:1
Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers,
2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or
letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord
has already come.
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for [that day will not come] until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessnessa is revealed, the man doomed to destruction…
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?
6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.
7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now
holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will
overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of
his coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan
displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders,
10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing
.
They
perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.  …
15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachingsc we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
1 Timothy 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and
follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons…
6 If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister
of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good
teaching that you have followed.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over
weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all
kinds of evil desires,
7 always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and
encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

And what about what Jesus Himself taught us:

Luke 18:8
However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
or
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him
privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will
be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4Jesus answered: Watch out that no one deceives you.
5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,a’ and will deceive many.
6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not
alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Sadly, according to New Testament predictions about the LAST DAYS, there is not one Scripture found teaching that there will be a GREAT END TIMES REVIVAL.  One would think that Jesus would gladly tell of the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and people flocking to be saved, just before His Return, wouldn’t you?
But again…
Does all this matter?
Will I stop praying that the Lord would grant repentance to those in my city and turn people to Himself?
No, I won’t stop praying and preaching, for Jesus Himself has taught me in Matthew 28:
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them ina the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is my great commission from the Lord and I will continue to pass out tracts and speak to anyone who will listen concerning their eternal destination.

But if you do not see a great revival when you preach will you be disappointed or discouraged?  Or will you be swept away into church circles where there ARE signs and wonders and a claim that revival is happening, because you’ve been led to believe that this is what we are looking for?

I have a sense the “Last Great Revival of the End Times” teaching could be yet another DECEPTION being used by the enemy to get Christians to swallow hook, line, and sinker the lies of the current charismatic deception which bring with it,  false signs and wonders.  If Revival is “supposed” to be happening, then the church stating they are having “revival” will be flocked to.
The SIGNS of Christ’s Return for His Church, as He foretold in Matthew 24, are already here.  And so are the predictions as told by Paul to Timothy and the Thessalonian Church.  A GREAT REVIVAL, with the Church moving in greater glory and greater signs and wonders, were NOT predicted by either Jesus or Paul.  SO DON’T BE LOOKING FOR SUCH.

“No matter how big the lie;
repeat it often enough and the masses will regard it as the truth.”

John F. Kennedy

Conclusion:
So are there Scriptures that truly support a great End Time Revival?

I can’t find any on line, but I sure see a lot of PROPHECIES stating it will happen.  Prophecies spoken by MEN but not supported by Scripture.  But if I have overlooked anything, please send me the Scriptures!    I would like to have some clear, in context, Scriptures which can support how my church prays weekly, and how my friends believe
in the Church that I am currently attending.  I am trying to find out if this teaching can be supported, or have I yet once again, been DUPED by MAN’S DOCTRINE in the charismatic circles that I am not willing to so easily give up on … not yet anyway.

A friend and I were having dinner the other day and persecuted Christians in China were mentioned.  He said he had heard that Christians were no longer being persecuted in China.  The below Article shows that indeed, Christians ARE still persecuted in China, with some being imprisoned and others beaten.

Please remember our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted because of the Name of Jesus and pray for them.

Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. – Hebrews 13:3, NIV

House church raided, believers detained

This unregistered church holds several mass baptisms each year.

More than 70 Christians were taken into custody when a house church, which had been meeting for more than two decades, was raided in western China. The church, located in the region of Xinjiang, was stormed by police on March 18. About a dozen policemen and Domestic Security Protection agents burst into Pastor He Enjun’s home, and authorities on the scene declared it was an “unapproved, illegal meeting” and ordered an immediate end to the meeting. Each Christian present was photographed by force and was taken for questioning. Some believers were not released for two days. Bibles, hymnals, notebooks, Christian education DVDs and other materials were confiscated without a receipt, even though a receipt is required by law. The pastor and his wife were later called back into the local police station for further questioning. They were threatened and ordered to stop hosting meetings in their home.

Please pray that the Lord will reward the faithfulness of these believers by using them to lead even more people to the King of Kings. Pray that these believers will echo Peter’s sentiment to obey God regardless of what man says (Acts 5:29). Pray that God will work powerfully in the hearts of the authorities in Xinjiang.
