The following 9 points are taken from Derek Prince’s teaching entitled,
Take Heed That You Are Not Deceived“.

I have added supporting Scriptures beneath each of the points that he gives.

Derek believes that by observing these 9 points we can keep ourselves from being deceived in the End Times.

1 – Remember that it is by God’s mercy that we will not be deceived

We should humbly accept this Truth and thank Him for guarding us.

John 3:27, “John answered, ‘A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.’ ”

2 – It is by cultivating humility and a Fear of the Lord that we will be kept from deception.

Derek then quotes Proverbs 9:10, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
and
Proverbs 1:7, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge“.

He then states that  the fear of the Lord is THE BEGINNING, meaning it is the foundational Truth for wisdom and knowledge.

3 – We must base absolutely everything … every experience, every prophecy, every doctrine, etc … on the Scriptures.

Psalm 119:160 “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever”

4 – We need to focus on Jesus alone, and not extra spiritual revelation because the Word says:

For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus(Revelation 19:10)
and
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you(John 16:13-14).

Don’t these 2 Scriptures show clearly that prophecy should be glorifying JESUS and not man?!

5 – We need to leave extra revelation with God.  If He wants to show us something, He will.  We should not be obsessed with new revelation / special revelation.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29)

6 – We need to be wary of fantastic sounding prophecies and new revelation.  Fantasy abounds within the charismatic prophetic circles these days, and will only get worse.  Stay within the boundaries of Scripture!
Colossians 2:18, “Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.”
7 – Keep things simple and plain.  Paul spoke of “the simplicity of the Gospel”.  It is the pride and arrogance of man that makes one want to sound wise or extra spiritual.

“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2-3, NASB)

8 – Cultivate discernment!  Don’t sit in any meeting, or listen to any preacher/teacher, without checking and weighing and judging all things said against the written Word of God.

1 Corinthians 14:29, “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.”
9 – Cultivate a LOVE of the Truth.  Not just a toleration of Truth, nor an acceptance so that if it is spoken around you, you are okay with it, but cultivate a hunger and desire and love for Truth.  A strong passion and desire to read and get into God’s Word and a desire to study and know God’s Word for yourself.

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)

An absolute love for the Truth will be the only way that we will be able to discern if a lie is being preached!

My ending thought:

If we LOVE the Truth, we will want to stand on the Truth and stand up for Truth NO MATTER what the consequences!  We will not go with the flow and accept what the crowd accepts to keep “unity” or to spare ourselves from being ostracized and persecuted!  We will LOVE the Truth no matter what and stand up for the Truth in the exact literal way in which it is written!

God bless you abundantly as you stand for Truth and look for the coming of our Savior and Lord!

Quote by Derek Prince

From
Uproar In The Church

… correct discernment is possible only for Christians who have become mature through regular feeding on the “solid food” of Scripture. The failure to distinguish between the spiritual and the soulish can have disastrous consequences. Speaking of a certain kind of wisdom found among Christians, James says:

  • This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly [on the earthly plane], sensual [soulish], demonic (James 3:15).

James points out three stages in a disastrous decline. When Christians move out of the realm of the truly spiritual and descend to the earthly, it is then all too easy to move from that to the soulish, and from the soulish to the demonic. Experiences or manifestations which were initially spiritual become an open door for the activity of demons. All too often, however, Christians do not realize that they have passed from the realm of the spiritual through the soulish to the demonic.

Here is one example. Exuberant, hilarious joy can be a precious work of the Holy Spirit. God is delighted when His people delight themselves in Him. He loves a hilarious giver (see II Corinthians 9:7). But sometimes Christians can take their eyes off the Lord and begin to focus on their own subjective experiences. Their goal becomes their own personal enjoyment and their worship becomes a form of entertainment. In the end, true joy is replaced by frivolity and flippancy.

In his book entitled, “Prophetic Guide to the End Times:  Facing the Future Without Fear”,  Derek Prince speaks about false teachers or false prophets who claim to have special revelation or who understand the “secret things” of God.

In Chapter 3 entitled, “Seven Principles of Biblical Prophecy” he writes:

“One common mistake in looking to the future is to become so intrigued with the secret things that we fail to obey the revealed things.  Here is a clear warning for us.  Anyone who claims to be able to reveal the secret things is really a false prophet – one who has, by his own lips, identified himself.”

A link to the writings in this book can be found HERE.

Such dangerous “insight and revelations” are flowing fast and furious in the charismatic circles currently, with little questioning from the followers and with no Scriptural support needed.

Experiences are reigning supreme, with new revelations and open heaven visions from the pulpits being enough proof for many followers.

But if you actually desire to be a TRUE follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you MUST remember the Words of Paul to Timothy when he wrote:

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth2 Timothy 2:15

And the Words of Christ Himself when He said:

the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they
said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming
and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
Matthew 24:4

The Truth seems to state that IT IS UP TO US whether we will be deceived or not.  And the ONLY way to make sure you are not deceived is to read and really study the Bible daily and refuse to follow teachings which “go beyond”  the Bible … such as Crowder, the Johnson’s and Bethel, or Che Ahn and their ilk are teaching.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear
. – 2 Timothy 4:3

Signs of the End of This Age are all around us.

Are you ready for Christ’s Return?
