The following 9 points are taken from Derek Prince’s teaching entitled,
Take Heed That You Are Not Deceived“.

I have added supporting Scriptures beneath each of the points that he gives.

Derek believes that by observing these 9 points we can keep ourselves from being deceived in the End Times.

1 – Remember that it is by God’s mercy that we will not be deceived

We should humbly accept this Truth and thank Him for guarding us.

John 3:27, “John answered, ‘A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven.’ ”

2 – It is by cultivating humility and a Fear of the Lord that we will be kept from deception.

Derek then quotes Proverbs 9:10, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom
Proverbs 1:7, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge“.

He then states that  the fear of the Lord is THE BEGINNING, meaning it is the foundational Truth for wisdom and knowledge.

3 – We must base absolutely everything … every experience, every prophecy, every doctrine, etc … on the Scriptures.

Psalm 119:160 “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever”

4 – We need to focus on Jesus alone, and not extra spiritual revelation because the Word says:

For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus(Revelation 19:10)
But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you(John 16:13-14).

Don’t these 2 Scriptures show clearly that prophecy should be glorifying JESUS and not man?!

5 – We need to leave extra revelation with God.  If He wants to show us something, He will.  We should not be obsessed with new revelation / special revelation.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29:29)

6 – We need to be wary of fantastic sounding prophecies and new revelation.  Fantasy abounds within the charismatic prophetic circles these days, and will only get worse.  Stay within the boundaries of Scripture!
Colossians 2:18, “Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you. Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen; they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.”
7 – Keep things simple and plain.  Paul spoke of “the simplicity of the Gospel”.  It is the pride and arrogance of man that makes one want to sound wise or extra spiritual.

“For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin. But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2-3, NASB)

8 – Cultivate discernment!  Don’t sit in any meeting, or listen to any preacher/teacher, without checking and weighing and judging all things said against the written Word of God.

1 Corinthians 14:29, “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.”
9 – Cultivate a LOVE of the Truth.  Not just a toleration of Truth, nor an acceptance so that if it is spoken around you, you are okay with it, but cultivate a hunger and desire and love for Truth.  A strong passion and desire to read and get into God’s Word and a desire to study and know God’s Word for yourself.

“The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)

An absolute love for the Truth will be the only way that we will be able to discern if a lie is being preached!

My ending thought:

If we LOVE the Truth, we will want to stand on the Truth and stand up for Truth NO MATTER what the consequences!  We will not go with the flow and accept what the crowd accepts to keep “unity” or to spare ourselves from being ostracized and persecuted!  We will LOVE the Truth no matter what and stand up for the Truth in the exact literal way in which it is written!

God bless you abundantly as you stand for Truth and look for the coming of our Savior and Lord!

We know from Scripture that satan loves to copy the things of God (ie: when Pharaoh’s magicians copied and performed the same signs and miracles that Moses performed — Exodus 7:11-12) and so we know that in the End Times, satan will be copying the things of God in order to deceive the world … and the Church! … into thinking that he is God.

Even as Jesus is currently preparing for Himself a Bride, holy and pure, who loves Truth, who lives in the power of the True Holy Spirit, and who is readying herself for Christ’s Return, we can see that satan is also preparing for himself a false bride.  A false bride who is not concerned with holiness, who is rebellious to the commands and the Word of God, who doesn’t love the Truth of God, who operates in witch-craft and lying signs and wonders, and who is being prepared for anti-Christ’s appearing!

This satanic bride is a false bride, springing up from the midst of the True Bride, even as foretold by the Apostles in the New Testament.

Yes, There Will Be A Great End Time Revival …
but it will be Satanic, as foretold in 2 Thessalonians

1 – Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him (= the Rapture!), we ask you, brothers, 2 – not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
3 – Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion (the “apostasy” NASB; the “falling away” KJV) comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 – who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.  5 – Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 – And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 – For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. 8 – And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 – The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 – and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 – Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 – in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
– 2 Thessalonians 2

The Man of Lawlessness will not be revealed until there is a great “falling away” from Truth, within the Church … a deliberate rejection of revealed, basic, and orthodox Truth … and as many are aware, this great falling away from the basic Truths of the Word is currently taking place within every denomination of the Church!

Satan is not so concerned with getting the world to fall for his deceptive ways because he already has them bound up in deception: the deception of liberalism, or socialism, or atheism, or islam, etc.  Yes, he will deceive the entire world into believing he is the man of the hour, the one to bring world peace, and the prophesied coming Messiah according to many of the world religions, but first, he must get the True Bride to fall for his deceptive lies!

He needs a weak and disobedient Church who cannot discern between right and wrong any longer.  He needs a Church who is not concerned with the Word of God, but who is a lover of self.  Such a Church will fall easily for his sweet and seductive lies!  Such a Church, who is more concerned with self and comfort and ease, will allow an “anything goes” doctrine to infiltrate the Church and take the Church over.   And it is this breaking away from Truth which allows sin and lawlessness to grow and abound, not just in the Church but also in the world.

Apostasy IS here and apostasy is growing and many are departing from the Truth of Scripture, and this great apostasy that is growing reveals to True Believers that the revealing of anti-Christ … and the Return of Jesus … is drawing near.

When Truth … which is Jesus (John 1:1) … is removed from Christ’s Church, a vacuum is formed leaving room for another to take the place of Jesus, and it is anti-Christ himself,  the Man of Lawlessness, who is getting ready to take the place of Jesus.

For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 – who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
– 2 Thessalonians 2

Apostasy IS in full-swing but something worse is coming!

The Man of Lawlessness is preparing for his appearance and he will appear to be adored and to be praised and to be worshiped by all people … even amongst those who call themselves Christians!

He will bring the answer to world peace:

2 – For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 – While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
– 1 Thessalonians 5

He will come with magnificent signs and wonders:

9 – The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 – and with all wicked deception
– 2 Thessalonians 2

And he will come and deceive many:

24 – For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
– Matthew 24

Where will anti-Christ come from?

According to Scripture, it appears that the anti-Christ will come out of the Church:

18 – Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 19 – They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
– 1 John 2

Notice how John states, “They went out from us”?

Also, when comparing Scripture with Scripture, we see that the term “son of perdition” (KJV) or “son of destruction” (ESV) was only used one other time in Scripture, when speaking of Judas, a false disciple:

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
– John 17:12, KJV (or “son of destruction”, ESV)

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition
– 2 Thessalonians 2:3, KJV (or “son of destruction”, ESV)

It seems that the anti-Christ could be a false disciple and come from the very ranks of the Church!  A person who LOOKS like a True Christian, who TALKS like a True Christian, and who even performs signs and wonders … like Judas! … yet who is a deceiver!

The outcome of the End Time apostasy will be a Harlot Church, ready and eager for her false christ!

For even as Christ is preparing His True Church whom He will Return for, so satan is preparing his false church whom he will appear for!

Both the True Christ and the false christ have brides!

One is spotless and holy and filled with the Holy Spirit and the other is filthy, and lawless and filled with the apostate spirit which stands against God’s Holy Truth:

1 – Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons
– 1 Timothy 4

1 – But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 – heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 – treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 – having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
– 2 Timothy 3

The False Church will be filled with love-of-self and greed and idolatry, empowered by witch-craft (lying signs and wonders) and will persecute and kill those who belong to the True Church! (Revelation 17 & 18).

Heads Up Saints!  Keep your eyes on the prize of Jesus Christ, our soon to Return conquering King!  Keep reading and obeying the Word of God so that you can avoid this great End Time deception!  And keep yourself pure and spotless:

but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3  – And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
– 1 John 3

Uproar In The Church

… correct discernment is possible only for Christians who have become mature through regular feeding on the “solid food” of Scripture. The failure to distinguish between the spiritual and the soulish can have disastrous consequences. Speaking of a certain kind of wisdom found among Christians, James says:

  • This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly [on the earthly plane], sensual [soulish], demonic (James 3:15).

James points out three stages in a disastrous decline. When Christians move out of the realm of the truly spiritual and descend to the earthly, it is then all too easy to move from that to the soulish, and from the soulish to the demonic. Experiences or manifestations which were initially spiritual become an open door for the activity of demons. All too often, however, Christians do not realize that they have passed from the realm of the spiritual through the soulish to the demonic.

Here is one example. Exuberant, hilarious joy can be a precious work of the Holy Spirit. God is delighted when His people delight themselves in Him. He loves a hilarious giver (see II Corinthians 9:7). But sometimes Christians can take their eyes off the Lord and begin to focus on their own subjective experiences. Their goal becomes their own personal enjoyment and their worship becomes a form of entertainment. In the end, true joy is replaced by frivolity and flippancy.

Seems satan has no real new tricks.  Just a new generation of people who don’t know his old tricks.  That makes deception easy for him really, for he doesn’t have to come up with anything new over the ages.  Just wait for a new generation who don’t read the Bible or study Church History much.

And the satanic deception I am touching on today is the lie that “You won’t die”.

Look at the lie.  “YOU WILL NOT SURELY DIE” said satan to Eve, as he tempted her to eat of the fruit from the tree which God had told Adam not to eat from:

Genesis 2:15The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16And the LordGod commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”

Satan, using God’s own words, told Eve:

Genesis 3:4You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman.

You will not surely die“.  Satan used God’s own words and told Eve this was not how God meant it.

And here is the lie I have recently been hearing from a pulpit … more than once:

When you read in the New Testament that anyone living in sin, or giving in to their sinful desires,  ‘WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD’ it DOES NOT MEAN they won’t get into Heaven.  That is not what these passages are talking about at all.  It means you won’t inherit the blessings of the Kingdom of God while alive on Earth.  You see, you are saved by God’s Grace alone … by the blood of Jesus Christ only … and nothing you can do will ever remove you from God’s love or forgiveness or Heaven.  So these passages do not mean you will not get into Heaven.  You simply will not be walking in God’s health and abundance and provision and peace and joy while on Earth.  But you are still saved.

In other words:  YOU WILL NOT SURELY DIE and be separated from God.

Same lie.  Same satan.  Same old deception and twisting of God’s Words to mean the opposite of what God has said.

But am I correct?   Or is the preacher correct?   Let’s look at SCRIPTURE to see:

2 Corinthians 11 (NIV):

2I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 5But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those “super-apostles.” 6I may not be a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.

In this Passage I see Paul preaching EXACTLY what I am stating:  That the Church is being deceived EXACTLY as Eve was deceived, with the same lie given to Eve, by satan through his workers who state, “You can live as you want.  Do what you want.  You don’t have to obey God’s laws.  There is freedom and no condemnation in Christ Jesus.  You will NOT die and go to hell when you live as you want, because once you are saved you are always saved.  It is a free gift of God and not by your works”.  But Paul was fighting this teaching in order to present a “PURE VIRGIN”, or a pure Church, to Christ, as other Scriptures show us:

Ephesians 5 (NIV):

3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.a 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.

Let us break this Ephesians Passage down:
There should not even be a HINT of sin amongst us.  Wow.  I don’t really need to go into details about this, as I am quite positive everyone can think of how many Christians look just like the world, divorce and remarry just like the world, go to the same comedy clubs and night clubs as the world, Christians go to movies just like the world, Christians tell the same jokes, and very sadly, it is reported that Christian men are just as addicted to porn as the world!

And Paul says WE CAN BE POSITIVELY SURE that such people, who live in such ways, have no inheritance … not ANY inheritance at all … in the Kingdom of God and Christ.

But does this mean such people simply will not be blessed with Kingdom blessings while on this Earth, but are still saved by the blood, with Heaven as their eternal home?  Well, Paul states, LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU, for it is because of the sinful ways of mankind that the wrath of God is coming on the Earth.

It doesn’t say here that the Wrath of God is coming on the Earth because people have refused to believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.  It says the Wrath of God is coming because of sin.  So, maybe this is another doctrine taught in current Churches which is wrong too (see HERE for my recent thoughts on this matter).

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (1852), by British Artist John Martin (1789-1854)

Let NO ONE deceive you” … not the evangelist who has a huge following.  Not the Pastor who can preach up a storm.  Not the prophet who gets to see angels every day of his life and visit the third Heaven whenever he wishes.  Let NO ONE deceive you:  It is because of sin that God’s Wrath is coming upon the disobedient.  THEREFORE DO NOT BE PARTNERS WITH THEM.   In other words, don’t partner with them and find yourself under God’s Wrath yourself.  Really?  Does Scripture support this statement of mine?  Let’s look further.

Hebrews 10:26 (NIV):

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left

Deliberately sinning, as I’ve tried to make clear in my other Posts, is the key word!   For those who are trying to overcome, and who will fight and struggle against sin in their lives, are showing they believe God at His Word and are fighting for righteousness and holiness in their lives.  They are trying to obey 2 Corinthians 7 which states:

2 Corinthians 7 (NIV):

1Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God

When we fight against sin … with prayer, with faith, with resistance, with fasting, with “just saying no” … we are perfecting holiness out of reverence and love for God.  We are showing Him that we believe Him at His Word and we are showing Him that we love and have reverence for Him AND His Word and His desires and His will for our lives.

And I pray that all of us, dear brothers and sisters, will continue in God’s strength and power and in His Word, filled with grace and faith and joy, in our fight to dominate sin in our lives.  We must not grow weary in our doing good, for in time we will reap a harvest IF we do not give up:

Galatians 6 (NIV):

7Do not be deceived: (there are those words again … DO NOT BE DECEIVED!) God  cannot  be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that naturea will reap destruction;  the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Destruction comes to the one who sows to the flesh, or who lives according to the desires of his flesh.  And destruction, in this very context, is contrasted with ETERNAL LIFE.   Therefore, destruction in this context CANNOT mean simply not inheriting blessings on Earth.

The Scriptures in this Post are clear:  Destruction (Galatians 6:9) and no sacrifice left for the one who deliberately continues in sin (Hebrews 10:26) belongs to the “Christian” who chooses to live in sin, with all that is left being the Wrath of God (Ephesians 5:6).  Please don’t be deceived by preachers.  Believe the Word of God only.

Hebrews 10 (NIV):

26If we deliberately  keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth,  no sacrifice for sins  is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Scripture seems to be clear … you make yourself an enemy of God if you will continue to LIVE in sin, even if you “prayed a prayer of salvation”!   Yes, scripture seems to be very clear … and Pastors are found to be teaching another Gospel when we compare their message to the Word of God.  The Church is being deceived by the same lie that satan gave Eve at the beginning in the Garden of Eden, “You will not surely die.

But God has stated the opposite.

Who’s side would you like to be found on when you stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ, people?

Does God Promise us BLESSINGS when we become Christians?  Yes, He does.  But how about starting with the first and greatest blessing of all:

Acts 3:26 (NIV)
When God raised up His servant (Jesus), He sent Him first to you
(Jews) to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways

Freedom FROM sin and wickedness … NOT Freedom TO sin and live wickedly … is the greatest and first blessing God is offering to all people everywhere.

Acts 3:19 (NIV):

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

True blessing and refreshment from the Lord starts with turning FROM sin.
Trust God today to cleanse you AND FREE you from the bondage and strongholds of sin in your life.

Do you know that it is OUR duty to protect our own selves from DECEPTION?

Mark 13 (NIV)

5Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you

Here Jesus is telling US to watch over OURSELVES!

And there are other Passages in the New Testament which state the same thing when they write, “DO NOT BE DECEIVED” or  “DO NOT LET ANYONE DECEIVE YOU”.

But how can we keep ourselves from deception?  Deception by its very definition is tricky.  Deception doesn’t appear loud and show itself as “wrong” or “contrary” to correct doctrine immediately, so how can we notice it or recognize it?

And by siding with the Bible … NO MATTER WHAT!

It is getting harder and harder to find people who read the Bible these days, or who will believe the Bible in the context and meaning in which it is written, because people are becoming so bombarded and brainwashed by Pastors and Evangelists latest revelations and insights, and because people are allowing Pastors and Evangelists do their spiritual homework and studying for them.

Pastors speaking smooth and soothing words.  Evangelists with great revelations and DAILY encounters with God and His angels.   Men behind pulpits with large crowds of followers, who speak with such authority!   “Such teachers and preachers can’t all be wrong” I am told!!!!!!  And after all, they are all repeating the exact same thing!!!!   “God wants us blessed beyond measure.  No matter what we’ve done.  No matter how we live.  For it is by GRACE ALONE and none of our own works.”   Love, love, love.  Grace, grace, grace.

It is getting very lonely in the Camp of the Charismatics to be a Bible reader who sees a different gospel  preached in the Holy Scriptures.  It is getting very lonely, and uncomfortable, when such a thought is even hinted at by myself to my fellow pew sitters.  After all, I  “do not have a huge following” I’ve been told (truly, I’ve been told that).  And how can all these other preachers be so wrong, and just little ol’ me be right, I’ve been questioned?

I could be right  IF  I am quoting Scripture.
And  IF  I am quoting Scripture IN CONTEXT.

I can’t get away from this topic … the topic of holiness, or right living before God, and I can’t get away from being overly concerned about correct doctrine and/or comparing current teachings with the Bible!

It has a burning grip in my heart.  It is a growing fire in my prayer time that I am not easily walking away from any longer.  My heart is becoming heavier with tears and heart-ache for my friends as I listen to them quote preachers and teachers and NEVER QUOTE THE WORD.  Or when they quote the Word, it is quoted as from the pulpit:  out of context and without the surrounding Scriptures which show the True meaning of the verse.

The only TRUE way we can protect ourselves from deception is by reading the Bible, daily.  And weighing EVERY SINGLE DOCTRINE taught today against the Word of God.  IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID DECEPTION.

And if you love your soul enough … if you care enough where you will end up once your soul leaves your body for eternity … then YOU WILL read your Bible daily.

Don’t blindly believe what the Pastors and Teaches are teaching.  Check and weigh everything against the Word of God.

This will be the start of your walking in a way that pleases God, for it is He Himself Who stated He has:
Psalm 138:2 (ESV):

exalted above all things (His) name and (His) word.

Catch that?  His Word and His Name are exalted above ALL THINGS.  His Word is above all things.  And didn’t the WORD become flesh and live among man (John 1:14)?

God’s Word.  You will be doing yourself a favor when you learn God’s Word AND believe it the way it is written.  Even if it makes you the most unpopular person in your church.

May God give you the strength and courage to believe Him … AT HIS WORD.  Amen.

Ephesians 5 (NIV) regarding HOLINESS:

We shall ALL stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ
3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.a 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient7Therefore do not be partners with them.
Matthew 24:11 and 24,25 (NIV) shows it is YOUR responsibility to avoid deception, even if the teachers perform miracles:

many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  …
24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miraclesto deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.
Mark 13 (NIV) repeats the same warning as Matthew 24:

5Jesus said to them: Watch out that no one deceives you. …
21At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christc!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. 22For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. 23So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

Mark 13 shows it is Christ’s desire that we not be led astray, when He warns us to watch over ourselves and BE ON GUARD!  So don’t be so proud as to think YOU CAN’T be led astray!

Matthew 7 (NIV):

15Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’  (who practice lawlessness – NASB)

Holiness, my brothers and sisters, is truly New Testament teaching!

1 John 3 (NIV):

7Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.8He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him
repentance and contrition
before God

Living in sin and/or practicing sin and/or continuing in sin,  is DIFFERENT from being in an addiction or bondage or stronghold and DESIRING TO BE FREE!  If you are truly desirous of living a life that is pleasing in God’s sight and being free from sin, then get to fasting and prayer for yourself!  Believe you have POWER over the works of the devil and over sin and that God is stronger in you.  And stand in FAITH believing God’s power WILL free you as His Word states.  It is His desire to free you from sin.  Sometimes our flesh and lusts and desires just won’t lay down very easily, but if you are sincere and determined to get free, God will lead you into freedom.

Father, help me walk in the freedom and holiness that You desire for me.  I believe You at Your Word which states that Jesus gave me authority over the power of the enemy and so right now I say, “devil you can’t have me any longer, in Jesus’ name.  I take authority over my flesh and over my thoughts.  I demand my thoughts and desires come in line with the Word of God right now”.  I give you my entire life God.  Even my secret life, which nobody else sees.  I cleanse my heart and my thoughts for Your Glory, even as Your Word tells me to do.  And I thank You for helping me walk pleasing to You, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.”

In his book entitled, “Prophetic Guide to the End Times:  Facing the Future Without Fear”,  Derek Prince speaks about false teachers or false prophets who claim to have special revelation or who understand the “secret things” of God.

In Chapter 3 entitled, “Seven Principles of Biblical Prophecy” he writes:

“One common mistake in looking to the future is to become so intrigued with the secret things that we fail to obey the revealed things.  Here is a clear warning for us.  Anyone who claims to be able to reveal the secret things is really a false prophet – one who has, by his own lips, identified himself.”

A link to the writings in this book can be found HERE.

Such dangerous “insight and revelations” are flowing fast and furious in the charismatic circles currently, with little questioning from the followers and with no Scriptural support needed.

Experiences are reigning supreme, with new revelations and open heaven visions from the pulpits being enough proof for many followers.

But if you actually desire to be a TRUE follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, you MUST remember the Words of Paul to Timothy when he wrote:

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth2 Timothy 2:15

And the Words of Christ Himself when He said:

the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they
said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming
and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
Matthew 24:4

The Truth seems to state that IT IS UP TO US whether we will be deceived or not.  And the ONLY way to make sure you are not deceived is to read and really study the Bible daily and refuse to follow teachings which “go beyond”  the Bible … such as Crowder, the Johnson’s and Bethel, or Che Ahn and their ilk are teaching.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great
number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear
. – 2 Timothy 4:3

Signs of the End of This Age are all around us.

Are you ready for Christ’s Return?

Quote by Derek Prince

From “Uproar In The Church

One critical area for discernment is the division between that which is spiritual and that which is soulish. Unfortunately, for many English readers the reality of this division is obscured by inconsistencies in translation from the original Greek. The Greek word for “spiritual” is pneumatikos formed directly from pneuma, the word for “spirit.” Exactly corresponding, the Greek word for “soulish” is psuchikos, formed directly from psuche, the word for “soul.”

In English, pneumatikos is always translated “spiritual.” Correspondingly, the natural translation for psuchikos would be “soulish.” But since this is not a normal English word, various other words are usede.g. “natural,” or “carnal,” or “worldly,” or “sensual.” The problem is that these different translations give the impression that different Greek words are used. They tend to obscure two facts: First, that soulish is an important and distinctive New Testament concept. Second, that the soulish and the spiritual are often in conflict with one another.

The soul is the area in which man’s natural reason and emotions function. This is quite different from the way that man’s regenerated spirit is designed to function. The contrast-and in fact, the opposition-between the two is clearly brought out in I Corinthians 2:14, 15:

  • But the natural [soulish] man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, be cause they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things …

The conclusion is clear. Both the spiritual and the soulish man are found among the people of God. The spiritual man is at home in the things of the Holy Spirit and responds appropriately to them. On the other hand, the soulish man cannot apprehend the things of the Holy Spirit, but by his reaction distorts and debases them. The only instrument sharp enough and sensitive enough to distinguish between the spiritual and the soulish is the word of God.

  • For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

This is why correct discernment is possible only for Christians who have become mature through regular feeding on the “solid food” of Scripture. The failure to distinguish between the spiritual and the soulish can have disastrous consequences.

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth
Such men are already in the Church teaching damnable heresies, and Christian leaders and lay-people alike are unable to discern their doctrines!  This is a pitiful statement regarding the maturity, or immaturity, of the Church today! (Read some of the teachings of present day teachers in the Church in my “Lakeland-IHOP-Bentley-Bethel” Category located on the right side of this page).
It is time to wake up Church and study to make sure the End Times deception will not take us over as well!  Study to show ourselves approved unto God!
